Santa Claus and Christmas

Auntie R. telephoned to let us know Santa was making a quick visit to her house yesterday. She invited us over so we could see him. We could tell he had already arrived before we got there, because one of his senior reindeer was guarding the door.

He was waiting for us just inside the front door. “Hi, Santa!”

We both got a chance to sit on his knee, and tell him what we and our brother and sisters wanted for Christmas. He said we had all been such good children this year, he would see what he could do for us. Yay!

Santa had to leave after we talked to him, because, you know, Christmas is tomorrow! He left a few of his elves to finish decorating Auntie R.’s Christmas tree. We wanted to help, but they would only let us hold the ladder. That was disappointing!

And, light some candles in the paint can luminaire.

But Auntie R. said we could help her with other decorations, like her creche and her welcome sign by her door.

We helped put up wreaths, too.

Auntie let us string lights around her lighthouse. Don’t you think they look beautiful?!

Next, we tried out Auntie’s new candle that changes light colours.

Auntie has decorations all over her house…she loves Christmas as much as we do!

Even though Covid is getting worse again, we have all had our booster vaccine shots, so we are ready to celebrate with our family tomorrow.

Before we went home, we sang some Christmas carols with Auntie’s kids, and then…

Auntie R. let us each pick a candy treat for being such good helpers with her decorating.

Chloe wanted a candy cane, but I took a chocolate. Yummy!

We wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday season filled with love and wonderment. Stay safe, healthy and have lots and lots of fun!

  1. Oops, I missed this beautiful Christmas message!!!
As always, I love your little stories.
The Tatie lighthouse is magnificent, like everything else.
Thank you Cynthia for showing us these wonders.

    • Auntie R. sure knows how to decorate! We love visiting her house. She lets us explore everywhere we want, and she always offers us the greatest snacks.

Tatie R. sait décorer ! Nous aimons visiter sa maison. Elle nous laisse explorer partout où nous voulons et elle nous offre toujours les meilleures collations.

    • Thank you, Auntie I.. Happy New Year to you. We love Auntie R.’s decorations, and had lots of fun at her house. We live in an apartment and don’t have nearly as many decorations so it is lovely that Auntie R. shares her house with us.

Merci, tante I.. Bonne année à vous. Nous adorons les décorations de tante R. et nous nous sommes beaucoup amusés chez elle. Nous vivons dans un appartement et n’avons pas autant de décorations, donc c’est adorable que tante R. partage sa maison avec nous.
