While Mom Copes With the Cast…

Michael: Look, it’s easy, see…you just click here and here.

Mercedes: Neat!

Chloe: But what if Mommy finds out?

Michael: Don’t worry – you’ve got lots of time. It takes her forever to take a one handed shower.

Michael: Boy, you guys sure were lucky! With the rest of Auntie R.’s birthday gift card to Mommy, you didn’t even have to open your piggy banks. How awesome is that?!

Mercedes: Ooh, Chloe, isn’t it wonderful?

Chloe: Wow! It has everything.

Mercedes: Let’s get it all set up before Mommy sees it.

Chloe: There sure are a whole lot of pieces.

Mercedes: Why don’t you put the dishes away and I’ll start on the food.

Chloe: Mommy will like this – look at all the fruits and vegetables. But, I think we’re going to need more stuff in our freezer. One little turkey isn’t going to feed all of us!

Mercedes: We’ll have to ask Auntie R. if she’ll take Mommy grocery shopping again.

Chloe: Yeah. Mommy’s too cranky to ask Auntie herself. Ever since she got her cast on, all she does is whine about stuff…

Mercedes: I’d better do the cooking. These burners get pretty hot.

Chloe: No fair!

Mercedes: Do you want Mommy to send it back?

Okay, okay – you cook and I’ll eat…ha, ha, ha.

You could at least use a plate, Chloe.

Chloe: Do you think Mommy will let us keep it?

Mercedes: I don’t think she’s going to have a choice. Once you’ve eaten the cake, there’s no turning back.

Chloe: Yay!

    • So true – they were great about putting everything away, but I do suspect it was only because of their ploy to get me to let them keep the kitchen set.

    • We know, and we love you for it. Did you like the gift you gave with Mommy’s gift certificate? We’re sure Mommy would have bought something boring like groceries with it, if we hadn’t stepped in to use it properly.

    • Well, there is that old saying: “When the cat’s away, the mice will play.” Little kids seem to instinctively understand that saying from the day they are born…Glad you enjoyed the photos. It really is a lovely kitchen set, and we are grateful to have it.
