Anyway, here is the pattern if anyone in your family can convince you to make something besides gifts for your family and friends at this time of year!
Round Yoke Crochet Dress for Kruselings
Materials: 1.00 mm (US – 12; UK – 6 1/2) steel crochet hook
DMC Cebelia #30
Tension: 11 sc per 1”/2.5cm
Stitches and abbreviations used:
Chain (ch)
Single crochet (sc)
Slip stitch (sl st)
Double crochet (dc)
Treble Crochet (trc)
Increase (inc) – Work two stitches in next stitch
Decrease (dec) – Decrease over the next two stitches
Special Stitches Used:
Reverse single crochet (rev sc): Work a sc in each stitch, but working backwards across row instead of forward, as would be usual.
Post stitch (post): Instead of working a dc in the next stitch as usual, work a treble crochet stitch around the top half of the double crochet stitch two rows below; then, skip the stitch behind the treble, and dc in next stitch as usual. On the next and each following post row, work posts around top third of these previous treble crochets.

Dress is worked from the top down, beginning at neck edge.

Do not chain 1 and turn at end of last row. Instead, slip stitch to join to beginning of row.

Right side facing, beginning at lower back seam, work one row sc up back edge of dress. End off.
Right side facing, beginning at neck edge, work one row sc down left back edge of dress. Ch 1, turn, sc back up to neck. Turn dress so neck edge can be worked with rev sc on the right side. Rev sc across neck edge and down right back row of sc. End off.
Sew left placket beneath right on wrong side of dress. Tack bottom of right rev sc edging to seam on right side of dress.
Sew in all ends. Close back of dress with snaps or hook and loop tape.
If making a sleeveless dress, you are done! For a dress with sleeves, continue as follows:
Sleeves (Make both alike)
Right side of dress facing, find the centre of the underarm sleeve edge. Join yarn.
1) Work 4 sc across underarm, 1 sc in first stitch of yoke, *inc, 1 sc,* repeat from star to star across yoke, then work 4 sc across underarm, join with a sl st to first sc. Ch 1, do not turn (30 sc total).

Personally, I like long sleeves and I will definitely opt to crochet this one.
Thank you with all my heart for the tutorial.
Oh yes, a good idea to go back in time!

Glad you like the dress pattern – we like it quite a bit, also. Going back on the calendar is sometimes better when there are kids involved. It is nice to have the option on a reusable advent calendar. 🙂
You are welcome! So glad you like the post. Chloe is being a little uppity though, showing off her dress to the others night and day to make them jealous!
I love the advent calendar! Are you supposed to start at one for December 1 and move from there? I love the collar on the dress with the short sleeve. Looks Egyptian. So pretty.
You can start at either end of a calendar like ours. We like to go backwards so we can clearly see how many days are left before Christmas Day!
