The Great Outdoors

It has been super cold here for the past week, but we were feeling so cooped up, Mommy said we could go outside for a bit if we dressed really warm. Heidi and Murray offered to take me and Vera to the park near our apartment building. They went outside before us, and waited, while Vera found some jeans to wear.

There was quite a bit of snow on the ground, bu the wind made it really hard to stay upright! Vera and I were glad our bigger sister and brother had come with us, because otherwise, we would have blown away for sure!

Heidi caught us as we went down the slide. Murray was helping, too, for a bit, but then he decided to go sliding by himself.

When Vera and I got tired of sliding, we played on the platform for a bit because it wasn’t as cold up there. Murray and Heidi climbed up to join us.

I wanted to climb the rungs, too, but I kept sliding off. They were really slippery! I think I’ll wait until I am a little bigger – maybe next summer?

We had a lot of fun, before we got too cold to stay outside any longer. When we went in, Mommy made us all some hot chocolate. Yum!

Then, Mommy went off to finish a new sweater for us. She has been trying to make us a cardigan with mock cables for a few weeks now. She tried three different styes before she created one she was pleased with. Sofia is wearing it right now.

It has mock cables on the front, back and sleeves. Mommy used snaps to close it in the front, and then sewed on buttons to finish it. She says you could make it with buttonholes if you wanted to, but sometimes the buttons don’t stay closed as well as snaps do.

Here is the pattern if you want to make a cardigan like ours:

    • Thank you. The girls are loving their new cardigan, but of course, they all want one different colours! They can be very demanding sometimes…
It was really, really cold that day, but you are right, everyone had a great time, even if we didn’t stay out too long.

    • You are welcome – so glad you like the new pattern. It was a difficult one to design, going through three different interpretations, but we are happy with the final results, too. All of your kids, with and without bones, are lucky to have you make so many things for them!
